Guest Writers Series | Monica Youn & Beatrice Szymkowiak

Each year, the King’s English Bookshop partners with the University of Utah to host the Guest Writers Series, bringing distinguished authors to Salt Lake City. Their goal is to provide the community with an opportunity to engage in a dynamic, educational, and inspiring relationship with literature. They aim to bring in a diverse array of voices and perspectives, and to provide a platform for an enriching dialogue between our authors and the audience.

All events are free and open to the public and take place at Finch Lane Art Gallery at the Art Barn.

This month features a reading by last year's Agha Shahid Ali Prize winner, Beatrice Szymkowiak, author of B/RDS, in conversation with Monica Youn, author of From From (Graywolf Press, 2023), which was a finalist for the 2023 National Book Award in Poetry; Blackacre (Graywolf Press, 2016), winner of the William Carlos Williams Award from the Poetry Society of America; Ignatz (Four Way Books, 2010), a finalist for the 2010 National Book Award in Poetry; and Barter (Graywolf Press, 2003).
