Having lived a life of travel focused on animal husbandry, owning and collecting books was a luxury we didn't always have space for. The last seven years with Calvin and becoming part of the Independent Bookstore world has been transformative, from the first meet the author gathering he brought me to (I met Joe Ide, still one of my favorite authors) to moving to Utah to support him in his lifelong dream of owning a bookstore, and not just any bookstore, but The King's English Bookshop. Working with Calvin at the bookseller conferences and at Book Passage in Northern California, where I have met so many great authors, and discovering new titles has filled my life (and our bookshelves) in a way I never imagined. My reading interests include US History, general nonfiction, cookbooks, and gardening as I learn about Utah native plants and drought-resistant plants as we work on the grounds of the store and our backyard.
